Dolores M. (Detaege) Aubry

July 11, 1927 — January 17, 2015

On January 17th Dolores Mary (Detaege) Aubry, age 87, found everlasting peace with her loving family at her side. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Joseph in Heaven. Dolores and Joseph were married on May 8, 1948 in Oconto. Joe preceded her in death on March 1, 2005. Dolores was an amazing seamstress and made her beautiful wedding dress out of Joe’s Marine parachute. She also sewed most of her children’s and their doll clothing without patterns. Dolores had a knack for making sure a welcoming smell of fresh baked bread, raised donuts, cookies or her famous “gooie cinnamon rolls” greeted her children when they came home from school. Dolores’s hobbies included golfing, playing bridge, creating fashionable unique hats in the 70’s and crocheting Afghans for her children and grandchildren. She loved music and dancing, especially the polka. The last song Dolores sang with her children was “You are My Sunshine”. Dolores loved wintering with Joe in Arizona and their many trips, especially the Vatican in Rome. Dolores always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events. Dolores is survived by her five children: Charon (David) Younger of Green Bay, Diane Aubry of De Pere, Patricia (Danny) Wallace of Green Bay, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Aubry of De Pere and Michael (Kathy) Aubry of Green Bay; 11 Grandchildren, Lisa Hendricks of Oconto Falls, Jodi (Todd) Akers of Signapore, Steven (Sarah) Murphy of Gillett, Sarah (Chad) VanHemert of Denver CO, Joseph (Michelle) Murphy of Neenah, Patrick (Paula) Wallace of Green Bay, Brian (Kelly) Wallace of Lexington KY, Elisabeth and Grant Aubry of De Pere, Alec and Julia Aubry of Green Bay; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond (Pat) Detaege and Bernard Detaege all of Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret (Leneau) Detaege; brothers, Richard (Barbara) Detaege and Byron Detaege. Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere, on Thursday, January 22, from 3:30-6:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:00pm with Father Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Oconto. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory, 336-8702, is assisting the family. Dolores’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to both past and present Alpha Senior Concepts staff who Mom formed a special bond with and Unity Hospice, especially Liz her nurse.
