Diane Lyn (Schoemaker) Hahn

June 24, 1962 — April 8, 2015

Diane Lyn Hahn, age 52, of Kewaunee, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 with her family by her side, after a courageous ten year battle with cancer. She was born June 24, 1962 in Mankato, MN to Daryl and Rita (Freeberg) Schoemaker. She attended Mankato East High School and graduated from UW-Stout with her degree in clothing and textile design. She later attended Silver Lake College for her degree in education. Diane married Bruce Hahn on March 24, 1984 in Mankato, MN. She enjoyed sewing, especially for her children, gardening, traveling and camping, and spending time with family and friends. She was a dedicated kindergarten teacher for 12 years at Dickinson Elementary School in De Pere. Survivors include her loving husband, Bruce, children: Matthew Hahn, Erin Hahn and Mitchell (Marissa) Hahn; her parents Daryl and Rita Schoemaker, a sister Linda (Robert Hardwick) Schoemaker, a brother Denis (Linda) Schoemaker; nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and other family members. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, a brother-in-law Tim Hahn, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary Jane and John Hahn. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere, on Sunday, April 12, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, from 10:00am until 10:45am at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 S. Ridge Rd, Green Bay. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday with the Rev. Earl Vorpagel, III, officiating. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com Diane will be forever remembered for her positive and giving nature. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Green Bay Oncology, especially Dr. Winkler, as well as Unity Hospice for the compassion and care shown to Diane.
