Diane Gossen

Diane L. Gossen, 75, Crivitz, formerly of De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette . She was born May 5, 1938 in Calumet County, WI, daughter of the late Clarence and Marie (Mertens) Pfluger. Diane graduated from East De Pere High School in 1956 and founded the Religious Program for the Developmentally Disabled for the Green Bay Catholic Diocese in 1968, where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Brown County Homemakers and received the distinguished Silver Knight Award for community service in 1987. She married Donald Gossen on July 4, 1957 at St. Francis Catholic Church in De Pere. Diane loved baking cookies for her grandchildren, feeding the birds, snowmobiling and going to the casinos. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lakewood, Crooked Lake, and Silver Cliff Chapels. Diane volunteered at the thriftshop in Wabeno and basically helped anyone who needed it. She dedicated her life to the work of Jesus.. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Don; six children: Debbie Gossen, Dan (Kris) Gossen, Lori (Tom) Marzahl, Doug (Pam) Gossen, Donna (John) Rich, and David Gossen; nine grandchildren: Erin (Wayne), Sarah (Matt), Kevin, Kelly, Sam, Matt (Janie), Katelyn (Andrew), Adam, and Michael; one great grandson, Jack; sisters-in-law, Sally Pfluger, Nancy Pfluger, Johanna Gossen, Edna Huelsbeck, Carol Gossen; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Gossen; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristin; brothers: Jim, Don and Jerry Pfluger; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Lawrence, Bob, and Orville Gossen, and Marion Evers. Family and friends may call Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of Mass at 5:00 p.m.at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, with Fr. Richard Getchel and Fr. Ralph Merkatoris concelebrating. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.
