Diane Kay (Wanek) De Villers, 56, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 12, 2016. She was born in Superior, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Patricia (Maccoux) Wanek. Diane graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1978 and Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute in 1981. While at East, Diane played tennis and was a member of the marching band which performed during halftime of a Green Bay Packer game in 1975. She also enjoyed playing recreational softball during her high school years. Diane married Steven De Villers at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Allouez on May 30, 1981. Diane worked as an Orthodontic Assistant for Dr. Gerald Pionek and later for Dr. Charles Montoure. She also taught CPR at NWTC, worked for many years at Schneider National and most recently with JC Penney. Diane was an avid Packer fan. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching movies. She loved spending time with her daughters and going to the family cabin in Silver Cliff, WI. Diane is survived by daughters Jessica and Carey; Steven De Villers; father, James; siblings Carol Wanek, Thomas (Lisa) Wanek, Green Bay, Robert Wanek, Boston, MA, Linda (Steven) Tabaska, Los Altos Hills, CA; nieces and nephews Brittany and Colin Wanek, and Brandon, Nichole, Michelle, and Christopher Tabaska. She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia (Maccoux) Wanek. Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Green Bay on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with a parish prayer service concluding the evening. Visitation continues on Friday, at the church from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Diane at 11:00am with Rev. Robert Kabat officiating. Interment in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
