Dennis Johanek

August 17, 1952 — June 8, 2018

Dennis Johanek, Age 65, of Denmark, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at Bellin Hospital with his family at his side.

He was born August 17, 1952 in Green Bay to Wencil & Bernice (Sobieck) Johanek. He graduated from Luxemburg Casco High School and NWTC. On July 13, 1974 he married Sherry Lemmens and together they raised their three sons.

In 1982 he started his own business named Dennis Johanek Construction which featured custom home building and remodeling. After his two older sons graduated from school, they joined him to build quality homes in the area. Dennis took great pride in the work he did and believed that every home owner deserved to be completely satisfied with a job well done and it showed in the work that he did. He was the kind of person that was always willing to help family and friends when they needed him.

He was so proud of his three sons. From little league to high school, he always made sure that he and Sherry were there to watch all of their wrestling, football, and baseball games. He pitched on various softball teams over the years, shot trap, and bowled on a number of leagues. The friends he made there were very special to him. Dennis enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers play. He also enjoyed going to the cabin that he and his family built.

Survivors include his wife Sherry, three sons: Bob (Beth), Barry (Kristy), and Ryan (Tara); grandchildren: Madison, Amber, Kaitlyn, Brody, Blake, Adler, and Ryker; siblings: Karin (Ron) Wagner, Tony (Pat) Johanek, Julie (Bob) Ronk, Tim (Joan) Johanek, Lori (Steve) Warden, and Mick (Terri) Johanek; brother-in-law Jerry (Bev) Lemmens; his godchildren: Carri Prochnow, Heather Roberts, Tara Johanek, and Julie Melnarik; nieces, nephews, and friends. His greatest love in life was his family. He loved his grandchildren so much and his eyes lit up every time one of them came into the room. He was the greatest husband, father, and grandfather that anyone could ask for. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim, father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard and Alvina Lemmens, and brother-in-law Ron Lemmens.
