Deborah "Debbie" Gruetzmacher

Deborah (Debbie) Gruetzmacher, age 65 of Denmark, passed away peacefully March 16, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Debbie was born March 19, 1958 to the late Mary Ann Larson and Robert Parks. Debbie attended school in Green Bay, WI. After school, Debbie made a career being a caregiver in the health care field. Debbie’s passion to care for others is what makes her so special. Debbie married Neil Gruetzmacher on January 5, 1996 in Algoma, WI.


Debbie was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simple pleasures in life. She had a passion for fishing and camping, often spending weekends in nature’s embrace with her family and friends. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy of love and laughter will forever be treasured by those she left behind.


Debbie’s warm heart, contagious laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her memory will forever be engraved in our hearts.


Debbie is survived by her husband Neil and his children Beth and Stacy; Debbie’s children: Mark Parks and his children Josh, Paige, and Austin; Deedra (Frank) Lynch and their children Mariah, Melissa, Devon, Ronia, Katie, and Brayden; and Shawn Fonder; Debbie’s four sisters: Tam Parks, Jodee (Steven) Monfils, Stephanie Basten, and Kathy (Ross) Ray; her two brothers: Greg Parks and Robert (Michelle) Parks; three sisters-in-law: Deborah Delebreau, Candace (Rodger) Krohn, and Darcie (Chan) Junio. Debbie is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann; Robert and Kathy Parks; and her in-laws Hilbert and Bernice Gruetzmacher.


Debbie cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her greatest loves, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. Debbie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Through she may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.


Family and friends may gather on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 3 – 6 pm at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Road R, Denmark. A funeral service will be held at 6 pm with Rev. Daniel Olson officiating.


Debbie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice and those who made it possible for her to remain at home.
