Debbie M. Gossen

April 8, 1958 — July 24, 2022

Debbra Marie Gossen, age 64, of De Pere, passed on to eternal life in the joy of God’s presence on July 24, 2022 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born on April 8, 1958 in Green Bay, WI.

Throughout Debbie’s life, one thing was always consistent and that was her unwavering faith. Every ounce of her being was dedicated to helping and giving to those around her. This was evident in the different career paths she chose. From her many years at Humana, to being a nurse in hospice care and also at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, as well as a certified grief counselor, Debbie brought empathy, kindness, love, a warm embrace, and a caring smile to all those she encountered. Debbie had a way of making friends with every individual she encountered through her sweet and personable charm. Debbie’s utmost joy was experienced when she could share her sincere love and generous giving of herself to everyone and anyone in need.

Debbie’s family was always her greatest love and top priority in life. Her most cherished role was that of a devoted and dedicated mom and grandma. Whether she was spoiling her grandchildren with cookies for breakfast or having ice cream sundaes before snuggling with them in bed during one of their many sleepovers, she was loving every second of it. She would rearrange her schedule at the drop of a hat to be there for her girls or her grandchildren. Debbie had a unique bond with each grandchild and she never let a moment slip by without reminding them about how loved and special they were. Her daily phone calls with her girls always ended with an “I love you so much.”

She is loved and will be profoundly missed by her cherished daughters Erin Van Enkevort (Wayne) and Sarah VanEffen (Matt). Her beloved grandchildren Jack, Ava, and James Van Enkevort; Henry, Hadley, Camden, and Cooper VanEffen. Her father Don Gossen, her siblings: Dan (Kris) Gossen, Lori (Tom) Marzahl, Doug (Pam) Gossen, Donna (John) Rich. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, goddaughters and the gift of many special friends.

Debbie was welcomed into heaven by numerous family and friends which include her precious daughter Kristin, her former spouse and best friend, Bruce Lund, her mother Diane Gossen, and her brother David Gossen.

Family and friends are invited to St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Thursday, July 28, between 2:00 and 4:15 in reflection and thanksgiving for the happiness Debbie enjoyed in life. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m.

Debbie requested in lieu of flowers a memorial fund be established. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family. Entombment will be at the Allouez Mausoleum.
