Dean C. Palmer, 72, Bellevue, passed away Monday, October 24, 2011. He was born November 5, 1938 in Pepperell, Massachusetts. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. Dean married Judith Watkins on September 17, 1966 at Bayview Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Bay. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, biking and golf. He was a lifetime member of Wisconsin AmVets Post 11. Dean is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children: Melanie (Walter) Schmucker and their children; and Nicoli (Stacie) Palmer and their son, Skyler; brother, Don (Nancy) Palmer; mother-in-law, Audrie Watkins; sister-in-law, Brenda Ryan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Lory (Linda) Watkins, Myrna Herrbold, Rita (Dave) Hunt, and Dean Watkins; and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Palmer; mother, Esther Stewart; brother, Larry Palmer; father-in-law, Eldon Watkins; and brothers-in-law: Bruce Watkins and Mark Herrbold. Friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm. Visitation will continue at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2911 Libal St., Allouez, on Saturday, Oct. 29th, from 10 to 11 am. The funeral service will be conducted at the church on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Lori Swenson officiating. Interment will be in Hainesville Cemetery, Door County. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to express their special thanks to all the staff at NEW Currative Workshop and U.W. Madison Transplant Team.
