David R. Forstner

David R. Forstner, 83, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 14, 2012, at his home. He was born May 2, 1929 in Chilton, WI, son of the late Jerome and Kathryn (Pirkov) Forstner. David graduated from West High School, and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. David married Lula Tremble on February 11, 1956 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Brussels. He worked at Milprint as a Printer for 36 years, retiring in 1990. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, playing cards, and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Great Lakes Fishing Club and the Quarter Century Club. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Lula; five children: Julia (William) Zakowski, Paul Forstner, Lisa Forstner (special friend-Tony), Craig Forstner (special friend-Heather), and Wendi (Larry) Lemmen; eight grandchildren: Scott Hendricks, Laura (Matthew) Manteufel, Rhea Rousch, J.C. Rousch, Gena Rousch, Tara Forstner, Brittany and Dylan Watruba; and two great grandchildren: Hunter and Angel. Also surviving are a sister, Mae (Leo) Gibertini; a brother, Ronald (Barbara) Forstner; brother-in-law, Leland Marcelle; sister-in-law, Lea Naze (special friend-John); and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Herbert Staniske, a son, Perry in 1980, and a sister-in-law, Rosella Marcelle. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home Cremation Services, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parish prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, Dec. 20th, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Norbert College, 100 Grant St., De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
