David Marvin Wineinger, Md

David Marvin Wineinger, M.D., 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 in Palm Harbor, Florida. He was beloved and respected by his family, friends, and colleagues for a life defined by compassion, understanding and empathy. 
David was born August 3, 1935 in Corydon, Iowa. He attended high school in Dexter, Iowa and continued his studies at Drake University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. David obtained his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and took a medical internship at Illinois Research and Education Hospital in Chicago, IL. He remained in Chicago for his otorhinolaryngology and surgical residencies at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital and Illinois Eye and Ear. He spent two years in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. In 1969, he joined private practice at Eye & Ear Associates in Green Bay where he practiced medicine until his retirement in 1997. David was a former president of the Wisconsin Otorhinolaryngology Association and part-time staff at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine. 
David met his wife, Joyce (Preisler) at Drake University while he was in pharmacy school. They married in the summer of 1959 in Chicago, IL. David and Joyce raised three children who cherish their times together. He is deeply missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. 
David enjoyed golf, fishing, sailing, gardening, traveling, watching Packer games, and spending time with many close friends and family in Green Bay, Door County, and Palm Harbor (Florida). He was a longtime member of Oneida Golf & Country Club and Innisbrook Resort. As an avid golfer, one of his greatest pastimes included passing along the love of golf to his children and grandchildren. He was devoted to his wife and family. 
David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce; two daughters, Susan (Trevor) Thielbar of Zionsville, IN, and Pamela (John) Hutchinson of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Jordan, Thomas and Abigail Thielbar; Libby, Megan and Johnny Hutchinson. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Grace Lang; brother-in-law, Richard Bice; sisters-in-law Kitty Wineinger and Jane Wineinger, and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his son, Brent David Wineinger; his parents Lloyd and Rose Wineinger, sister Carolyn Bice, brother Donald Wineinger and in-laws Otto and Sylvia Preisler. 
Family and friends may gather Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 from 1-3 pm at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, with a service at 3:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to American Heart Association or Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
