DAVID L. HEYROTH (ALIAS CAPTAIN SULLY) On Tuesday, June 18, 2013 David passed from this earth to that beautiful golf course in heaven where he has been greeted by his good friend, Jerry VanPay. David was born on June 6, 1936 to Lewis C. Heyroth and Mildred Arey Heyroth in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Having been born on D-Day he was always so proud of his country. His favorite Uncle Buddy was killed in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge and the flag presented from that horrible event was something he treasured. He graduated East High School in Green Bay and NWTC. He furthered his education at the General Motors’ Institute which served him well as an employee of many of their subsidiaries including AC Spark Plug, AC Delco and finally General Motors Service Parts Operation. He was so proud of his 31 years as District Sales Manager and always supported his employer by driving GM vehicles. On June 22, 1957 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Kane Heyroth at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stark, Wisconsin. Dave joined the U.S. Army military service in July of that year and later spent six years in the active reserves. Dave and Kathy were blessed with a wonderful son, Stephen Kane Heyroth. He was united in Marriage on December 28, 1996 to Stephanie Schoengrund and on October 4, 2003 they were blessed with the birth of their son, Jack William Heyroth. Jack and “his Beepa” had the most beautiful relationship that one could ever imagine. The Heyroths reside in the town of Delafield, Wisconsin. David was active for many years as a member and then as Chaplain with The BPOE Elks’ Club No. 259. Upon retirement he discovered a passion for golf and would be ready for another nine at a moment’s notice. David and Kathy spent many years traveling the United States and areas abroad and spending months in Florida during the winter season. They also enjoyed having a get away at Heritage Lake in Egg Harbor. In recent years he was often mistaken for Captain Sully who managed to save the passengers in a flight he landed in the East River, New York. He does bear a marked resemblance to that now famous captain. In addition to his loving wife, Kathy of Allouez, and his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen (Stephanie) Heyroth and their son, Jack, of Delafield, WI, David is further survived by his sister, Helen Wiederkehr, who resides in Huntley, Illinois and has three children Jamie (Vince) Kordack, East Brookfield, Massachusetts; Jim (Lisa) Wiederkehr and their daughter, Emma, and Jodie Wiederkehr, all of Chicago, Illinois. His sister, Alice Fleming preceded him in death and Michael J. Fleming of Summerfield, Florida survives her with their sons, Joshua and Senia Fleming and their children, Daniela and Louis of Gansevoort, New York, and Matthew and Carinn Fleming, Lake Zurich, Illinois. Other nieces and nephews include Laurie and Mark Henrigillis and their son, Todd, Denmark, Wisconsin; Greg and Joan Kane and their daughters Meghan, Andy and Kaden, Stodola and Katie Kane, Madison; Tim and Carla Kane and their children, Patrick, Rachel and Jenna, Denmark. His sister-in-law, Elaine Kane, DePere. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Alhva and Louis Heyroth, his sister, Alice, his in-laws Raymond and Coral Kane and his brother-in-law, Patrick J. Kane. Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, from 11:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Friday at church, with the Rev. Conan P. Mulrooney, O.Praem officiating. Full military honors will follow the Mass. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in David’s name. The family wishes to extend very special thank you to the physicians who cared for David throughout his lifetime: Dr. Matthias Fuchs, Drs. Mian and Yap and Dr. Rozena Biernat; and to Bishop Mourneau, Sheila Deluca and Roseann Dichraff of Resurrection Parish.
