David J Cisler

David J. Cisler, age 64, of Denmark, died on December 30, 2021. He was born March 17, 1957 to George and Sharon (Cherney) Cisler and grew up on the family farm on Highway NN. He graduated from Denmark High School Class of 1975. He worked at Packerland Packing and Maintenance Engineering until his disability. David then worked at Curative Rehabilitation Center, Brown County Publishing, cleaned at BMO Bank in Denmark and did landscaping maintenance at the Bridge Between. A kind and generous person, Dave would talk to anyone. He enjoyed riding his bike, especially going to the R&M Drive-In. At Holy Trinity Parish in New Denmark, he loved singing in the choir and serving mass. He enjoyed casino bus trips with Audrey and Fred, and in his younger years loved going up north to the shack, which he said was approved by the “DNR” (Danny, Norbert and Ralph).

He is survived by his mother Sharon Cisler, siblings: Rick (Lorraine), Jim (Mary), Mike (Kathy), Tom (Lynn), Cheryl (Chris) Lacenski, Lisa (Joe) Schaetz, Chuck (fiancé Heidi); godchild Matt Lacenski; special godparents Joyce and Leroy Novy; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father George Cisler Jr., infant brother Donald; grandparents: George Sr and Agnes (Kriescher) Cisler, Joseph and Marguerite (Elfner) Cherney.

Family and friends may visit at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 6397 Cty Hwy NN, Denmark, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with Fr. Xavier Amirtham, O.Praem officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
