Darla J. (Huchthausen) Kenney

Darla J. Kenney, 72, of Peoria, passed away Saturday morning, June 18, 2011. She was born June 1, 1939 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Miller) Huchthausen. Darla married Jerome “Jerry” Kenney on May 4, 1963 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was a member of First Federated Church of Peoria. Darla enjoyed playing cards, golfing, sailing, reading, travelling, and spending time in Door County, Wisconsin. Darla is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Greg Gerontes, Brimfield, IL; son, James Kenney, Oakland, CA; and two grandchildren, Katie and Matthew Gerontes. Visitation will be held at First Federated Church, 3601 N. Sheridan Rd., Peoria, on Friday, June 24, 2011 beginning at 1:30 pm followed by the memorial service at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Dr. Forrest “Frosty” Krummel will officiate. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. Cotter Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
