Darcie (Dekker) Budd, 36 died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 after a 3 yr courageous battle with brain cancer. Darcie was born in Crivitz to Sharon (Trempe-Dekker) Kresl Bob Dekker. She had an independent spirit was eager to learn, successfully convincing her mom to send her to school at 4 yrs old. Darcie was a graduate of Crivitz HS Class of 1994, received a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from UW Stevens Point a Masters in Special Education from Viterbo University in La Crosse. Darcie was a Special Education Teacher at Wrightstown Elementary School for the past 14 years, where her classroom was filled with animals creative ways to challenge teach her students. Darcie was thoughtful, selfless, kind hearted. She had a love of children, nature, animals, mountain bike racing, cooking, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her greatest love was her family. Darcie was always grateful for her mother Sharon for instilling reinforcing strength in her for being an instrumental caregiver during the past 3 years. They shared a motherly-daughter best friend bond. She was extraordinarily proud of her brother Shawn for the man he has become for being a great uncle to her children. She was grateful for her father Bob and step-father Jim. Darcie loved appreciated her devoted husband Mike who too cared for her their children during her illness. Dearest to her heart was their 3 young children Jake, Caden, Rylee. Their wonderful little spirits enhanced her life as she extended love, spirituality, values, and a love for learning and playing. Darcie is survived by her husband Mike Budd children Jake, Caden, Rylee Budd of Wrightstown; mother step-father Sharon (Trempe-Kresl) Jim Kresl of Hilbert; father Bob Dekker of Crivitz; brother Shawn Dekker of Washington DC, father-in-law Larry (Buck) Budd of White Lake, mother-in-law Vicki Budd of Appleton. Darcie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Wallace Trempe, Lucille Trempe-Kielsmeier, step-grandfather Donald Kielsmeier; paternal grandparents Donald Ruth Dekker. Friends are welcome to join the family for a memorial service and visitation celebrating honoring the life of Darcie (Dekker) Budd on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church at 204 Horn Street in Brillion, WI, with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m., with the Rev. Susan Safford-Gaul officiating. A memorial fund has been established in Darcie’s name. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Wrightstown, is assisting the family.
