Daniel Lee Uecker, age 57, of Morrison, was called to his heavenly home on August 13, 2013 after a lengthy battle with scleroderma. The son of Arwed and Alice (Lawrenz) Uecker was born June 10, 1956 in Green Bay. He graduated from De Pere High School. He worked as a diesel mechanic, having been most recently employed at Dedicated Repair. Having followed in his father’s footsteps, he joined the Morrison Volunteer Fire Department, serving as assistant chief for 24 of his 33 years of service. He became a cornerstone of the community as a member of Morrison Evangelical Lutheran Church, and other local organizations. He was a gifted fabricator, always able to create “something out of nothing,” and enjoyed gardening, racing and teaching. Dan married Cathy Beining on February 29, 1984, and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He especially cherished and enjoyed his two granddaughters. Survivors include his wife, Cathy, children: Amy (Jay) Rott and their daughter, Emily, Heather (Ron) Beyer and their daughter Hannah, Steven Uecker; his mother, Alice; brothers and sisters: Dave (Janice) Uecker, Glenn (Dori) Uecker, Melissa (Bill) Krueger, Eric Uecker and Chris (Roger) Magley; a sister-in-law, Sue (Tom) Uecker-Case, many beloved nieces, nephews, other family and friends, especially Gary (Jacky) Clark. To him, we all owe the best parts of who we are. He was preceded in death by his father, Arwed, a sister, Joan, a brother, Andy, nephew, Ross Ambrosius and granddaughter, Samantha Rott. Family and friends may call at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 7395 Cty Road W, Morrison, on Monday, August 19, from noon until 3:45pm. Funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, with Pastor Randy Ott officiating. Interment in Zion Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Morrison.
