Curtis Nathaniel Copeland Sr.

Curtis Nathaniel “Pop” “Lil Poppa” Copeland Sr., age 51 passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 18, 1966 in Venus, Florida to John Daniel Copeland Sr. and Annie Mildred Lynch Jefferson. Curtis graduated from Dixie Hollings High School, then in January 4, 1996, he married Angela Lynn Fiel in Green Bay. He worked for many years as a machine operator for Schreiber Foods. Curtis enjoyed RC cars, working with stereo equipment, fishing, fish aquariums and listening to the blues.

He is survived by his wife, Angela, his children; Curtis Nathaniel Copeland, Jr., Dakota Nathaniel Copeland and Jacobie Nathaniel Copeland, his mother, Annie Jefferson, Leesburg, FL, brothers and sisters; Frazier (Devin) Lynch, Leesburg, FL, Connie (Nicholaus Baeten) Copeland, St. Petersburg, FL, Bridgette Copeland, Orlando, FL, Craig (Marcia) Copeland, St. Petersburg, FL, Nicole Copeland, St. Petersburg, FL, John D. Copeland Jr., Tallahassee, FL, Roger (Denise) Copeland, Pensacola, FL, Jacquelyn Dennis, Tallahassee, FL, Robert (Donna) Copeland, Lake Placid, FL and Candace Copeland, Miami, FL, mother and father in law, Joyce Fiel and James Fiel Sr., and brother in law, James (Erin) Fiel, Jr. Curtis is further survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.

Preceding Curtis in death are his father, John Daniel Copeland, brother, Rodney (Charlie Mae) Copeland, his step-father, Willie Jefferson; grandparents, Alfred and Mamie Copeland and Joe Lynch.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Wednesday, September 13, from 4-7pm. Funeral service will follow at 7:00pm. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences can be sent at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. A service was held last month in St. Petersburg, FL. Curtis is buried in Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell FL.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Aurora at Home Hospice, especially Melinda, Jessica, Alison and Erin for the excellent care given to Curtis.
