Lt. Col. Clark James Nelson, USAF (Ret), age 66, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at his home. Clark was born the oldest of five siblings and on August 30, 1969 he married Sara (Schultz) in Clear Lake, Iowa. During his distinguished military service as a fighter pilot, Clark flew many different jets, including the F-5 and F-15. He also was an active volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul after he retired. Clark was the axis which his family revolved around, and he will be lovingly and painfully missed. In addition to his wife, Sara, survivors include his three children: Amelia (Michelle) Nelson, Jacquelyne Nelson and Stephen (Elizabeth) Nelson; grandchildren: Madeline and Clark James; Siblings: Colleen (Jack) Erdman, Timothy (Mary) Nelson, and Deborah Nelson; as well as his mother, Clara Anderson and sister-in-law Bonnie Nelson. Clark was preceded in death by his father James Nelson, his brother Ken Nelson, and Earl “Andy” Anderson. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 North Webster Avenue, DePere, on Friday, May 15, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, with a parish prayer service to conclude the evening at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue Saturday, at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, from 9:00am until 9:45am. A mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00am with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating.
