Charles "Dave" Shobe

Charles David Shobe “Dave”, 80, Allouez, passed away, Friday, October 22, 2010, after a 6 month struggle against Mesothelioma. He was born January 2, 1930, in Keyser, West Virginia, son of the late John W. and Catherine (Mallow) Shobe. Dave married Angela Rahr in Manassas, Virginia on October 25, 1958 and would have celebrated their 52rd Wedding Anniversary on October 25, 2010. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring in 1972 with the rank of Master Sergeant (MSG). He finished his career in Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star Medal (with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and 2 Overseas Bars. After retiring, Dave chose to settle in Green Bay and worked for 17 years at Tec Systems W.R. Grace until 1990. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Angela; 3 children: Charlene (Ray) Cannon, Little Mountain, SC; Kristin (Antonio) Berti, Portland, Oregon; and Andrew (Debbie) Shobe, Green Bay; 5 grandchildren: Anissa, Ryan, Noah, Luca, and Jacob; 2 great-grandchildren, Reaghan and Clayton; brother, Robert (Gerry) Shobe; sister, Pernelia Murray; and sister-in-law, Jeanine (William) Matthews. Family and friends may call Monday, October 25, 2010 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, from 4:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday at 6:00p.m. with Rev. Steve Fewell officiating.
