Catherine “Katie” M. Haen, 96, Wrightstown, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010. She was born February 15, 1914 in De Pere, daughter to the late John and Louisa (Titulaer) Coenen. She married Peter Haen on May 10, 1939 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in De Pere, and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, where she was active in the Ladies Society, Golden Agers, and also belonged to the Green Bay Square Dance Club, and was a volunteer driver for the Commission on Aging. Catherine liked gambling, playing cards, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Mike Geurts, De Pere; two grandchildren, Doug Geurts, De Pere, and Michelle (Todd) West, Suamico; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jeremy, and Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters: Esther (Corneil) Peeters, Agnes (Robert) Hannon, Helen (Larry) Rentmeester, and Dorothy Coenen; two special Godchildren: Larry Peeters and Bruce Rentmeester. Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at church, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is handling arrangements.
