Carol Marie Plog

Carol Marie Plog, Green Bay, passed away on January 25, 2019 at Angels on Arcadian, De Pere.
She was born in Marinette, WI on July 6, 1924 to the late Louis and Agnes (Kloida) Plog.
The family lived in Marinette for a few years and then moved to De Pere. In De Pere, Carol attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school and then continued on to high school attending and graduating from East De Pere High School, schools that she loved. After graduation from high school, she also enjoyed many of the classes at Vocational School and later enjoyed many classes with LIR (Learning in Retirement).

In De Pere, she worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Company as an operator and later at the Broadway Garage as a bookkeeper, both jobs that she loved. After moving to Green Bay with her family, she worked as a bookkeeper at a few places including an insurance agency, Brown County Treasurers Office, State Board of Health and Kitslaar Interiors until retirement.

Carol was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and was also a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She also volunteered for various organizations in the area.

Carol loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours bicycling, playing tennis and ice skating at Legion Park in De Pere. She also enjoyed art, writing stories and poetry, nature, reading (especially mystery novels), loved animals, the weekly card games with her friends, and she especially enjoyed the many happy times spent with her family. She also loved music, attending many musicals in New York and Chicago and the many great musicals at St. Norbert’s College in De Pere. She especially loved to travel as well as taking many wonderful trips with her friends.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews: Judy (Tom) Hoslet; Jeanne Suda, De Pere; Roderick Robertson, Winona, MN; Linda Dee, Rochester, MN; Kathy (Ron) Bruch, Oshkosh; Terry (Darrell) Reed, Hoschton, GA; Ronald (Lisa) Plog and Scott Plog, Green Bay; and also, many special grand-nieces and nephews and many special great grand-nieces and nephews; special cousins and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Ralph Robertson; brother and sister-in-law Francis and Mildred Plog; a niece and her husband, Virginia and Bob Vande Hei and their son, Rick; nephew-in-laws, Joe Suda and Joe Dee, and grand-nieces Elizabeth Reed and Ashley Plog.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 11:00 at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery chapel, 2121 Riverside Dr, Green Bay, WI 54301 with Msgr. James Feely officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The family would like to thank the staff at Angels on Arcadian, Artisan Assisted Living and AseraCare Hospice for Carols recent care.
