Carol Mae (Lange) Johnson, 90, of Denmark was called to her heavenly home on Friday February 23, 2024. She was born May 16, 1933, to the late Ben & Emma (Eisenmann) Lange. She was the youngest of five children. Carol graduated from Denmark High School, class of 1951. On September 11, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life Gerald “Jerry” Johnson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Denmark, Wisconsin. They enjoyed over 60 years of marriage. Carol & Jerry enjoyed spending time “up north” camping, fishing, boating and spending time at the cottage on Pelican Lake.
Mom loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed decorating the house and trimming a real Christmas tree. She was a great homemaker and hostess with a “sweet tooth”. She appreciated tending to her flower garden & patio plants, especially geraniums. She spent many sunny days on the deck admiring her yard. Carol took great pride in her home and raising her children. She was a giver and a caretaker, always putting others before herself. She loved lunch dates & spending time with her best girlfriends and classmates.
Carol is survived by her daughters: Jill Niedzwicki (Jim Hoss) and Jennifer Hnilicka (Bill Otradovec); daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson; son-in-law, Harvey Shusta; grandchildren; Owen Johnson, Nicole (John) Nutting and Matthew Shusta; great granddaughter, Alexa Nutting; special fur babies, Rocky, Jack, Bailey & Kevin, as well as nieces, nephews & cousins.
