Carol Jean (Jacobson) Wellens

Carol Jean (Jacobson) Wellens, age 72, of Ledgeview, passed away at home Sunday, August 6, 2017, from complications of ALS. The daughter of the late Nels and Regina Jacobson was born February 19, 1945 in Green Bay. She attended Green Bay West High School, graduating in 1963, and later graduated Summa Cum Laude from UWGB with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2001. On August 28, 1965, she married Daniel Wellens at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay. Prior to retiring in 2007, Carol worked in marketing for AC Nielson. She had a love of quilting and baking for her family, especially on holidays, as well as candy making. During the winter months, she loved to travel to The Villages in Florida. Carol was a long-time member of St. Matthew Parish in Allouez, and an avid volunteer both at church and for Aurora Hospital. Survivors include her loving husband, Dan; their three children: Luanne (Scott) Davies of Whitefish Bay, Tracy (Chuck) Cole of Peoria, IL and Bradley (Lyndsey) Wellens of Westminster, CO; grandchildren: Samuel, Annemarie and Caroline Davies, Charlie, Taylor and Thomas Cole, and expecting Brooks Wellens in December; as well as her brother Jacob Jacobson of Bellevue and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Parish, 130 St. Matthew Street, Allouez, on Thursday, August 10 from 9 until 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am with the Rev. Robert Kabat officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
