Carol A. (Napierala) Evans, 72, of Allouez, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. She was born in Milwaukee to Ignatius and Frances Napierala on April 22, 1941. She married William Evans in Milwaukee on March 30, 1964, fifty years ago this coming March. Carol attended the University of Wisconsin Extension in Milwaukee, completing her Bachelor‘s degree in Nutritional Science at UW Green Bay. A licensed dietitian, she spent many happy years working at the NEW Community Clinic in the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC) as a nutritional consultant/educator and ultimately as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBLCA). She was a founding member of the Green Bay Breast Feeding Coalition, a member of the Love Life Ministry, the Eucharist Ministry at St Matthew Church and Stephen’s Ministry, Project Haiti and Friends of Haiti, and a longtime volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. Carol enjoyed cooking, her many friends and family as well as traveling; having been to Europe many times, the near east and China and visited every state except Hawaii. Carol is survived by her husband, William; children: Ellen Evans (John Fafinski) of Oregon, WI, Lorraine (Tom) Brandner of Madison, WI, and John Evans of St. Paul, MN; one grandson, Roman Brandner; a sister-in-law, Barbara Napierala of Milwaukee and her children: Christopher Napierala of Milwaukee, Claire Lederhaus and her son Craig Johnson; Claire’s husband Randy Lederhaus and their daughter Katie Laderhaus of Muskego WI, Rachel Napierala and husband Andrew Srok and their children Aaron and Sara of Cudahy WI, Lizabeth and Allan Phillips of St Francis, WI and Angela Napierala. She was preceded in death by her father, Ignatius, and mother, Frances Napierala; 2 brothers: Thomas Napierala and Gerald Napierala. Friends may call at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street, Allouez from 9:30am until 11:00am on Friday, November 8. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am with Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
