Carol Ann Derricks

June 8, 1941 — January 16, 2024

Carol Ann (Seidl) Derricks, 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 16, 2024. She was born on June 8, 1941, to the late Michael and Lillian (Husnik) Seidl. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. On July 28, 1962, she married the love of her life, Darryl Derricks at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the Town of Glenmore, Wisconsin. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage. Shortly after their marriage, they ventured to Albert Lea, Minnesota. After three years in Minnesota, they returned to Denmark, Wisconsin where they built their home and raised their family of four. Carol always put great effort into life as an energetic homemaker, who loved to wallpaper, can, decorate, and for many years enjoyed time as a 4H leader and CCD teacher and coordinator. She was very involved in her church and lived a faith-filled life. Once her children were older, she worked for Brown County at the Denmark Senior Center for 25 years. She definitely found her calling, enjoying every minute with those who visited the center and those who assisted her.

No one ever visited Carol, without “touring” her garden. She enjoyed growing vegetables, and fruit, and had many beautiful flower beds. Carol took great pride in taking care of the home and yard and also enjoyed dancing, attending her grandchildren’s various extracurricular activities, and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include her four children: Denise (Kevin) Leiterman, Dean (Jill) Derricks, Deanna (Bob) Olsen, and Danielle Derricks-Wincapaw. She was also blessed to have 10 grandchildren, Josh and Tori Leiterman, Paige (Tanner) Umentum, Blake Derricks (special friend Devyn), Lakin Derricks (fiancé Sawyer Alexander), Drake Derricks (special friend Emma), Julia Olsen (fiancé Will Liegel ), Sarah Olsen, Hailey and Drew Wincapaw; Brothers, Mike Seidl and Dave (Beverly) Seidl and sister, Patsy (Jim) Potts; Brothers-in-law Gary Tomcheck, Brice Derricks, Doane Derricks and Darwin (Linda) Derricks; Sisters-in-law, Barb Derricks, Dorothy Derricks and Linda (Tom) Paider; her godchildren, Jill McCaughn, Paula Grahm and Annette Dahlke, many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Lillian Seidl; her husband, Darryl; her in-laws, Harry and Anna Derricks; sister, Joyce Tomcheck; brothers-in-law, Larry Derricks and Gayle Derricks and friend of the family, Cindy Billings.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, January 25, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, 3425 Willow Road, Green Bay, until 11:45 a.m., with Mass of Christian burial being held at noon, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum.

A special thanks to her caretakers at Rennes Rehab and Oak Park Place, Dr. Tracy Gallagher, all who visited and sent cards, her wonderful neighbors and friends, Unity Hospice, and the team of nurses/doctors at St. Vincent and St. Mary’s Hospital in her final days. God Bless all of you who touched our hearts in her journey.
