C.M. (Mike) Holder, 86, De Pere, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012. Mike was born on Friday, November 13, 1925 in Memphis, TN to the late Morgan W. and Essie P. (Jones) Holder. On June 5th, 1954 he married the love of his life Barbara E. Brown at St. Alban’s Church in Highland Park Michigan. Mike served with the Fourth Anti-Aircraft Command, U.S. Army during World War II and is a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #3, Lincoln, Nebraska. Mike worked for several railroads including the Chicago and North Western Missouri Pacific and The Union Pacific from whom he retired in June 1983. Mike also worked at the various farmers markets in Green Bay and De Pere where he was affectionately known as “The Pumpkin Man”. He also was a member of the Experienced Traffic Club and former member of the Whirl-A-Way Square Dance Club, Green Bay, WI. Mike was survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Watermolen, De Pere, WI; two grandchildren, Joshua, De Pere, WI, and Andrea Watermolen, Madison,WI; sister-in-law, Brenice Brown, Lewiston, MI; as well as many nieces and nephews, many close friends, a very special group called “The Gang”, Green Bay, and special friend Dick and Marlene, Green Bay. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara in 1998; his parents; and three sisters, Elberta Cravens, Brentwood, TN, Ozelle Young, Hendersonville, TN, and Lillian Greer, Hampton, KY; one brother, Morgan James, Nashville, TN; and a brother-in-law, James Brown. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4-6p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster, De Pere. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Conradt officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Green Bay. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
