Survivors include his brothers and sisters: Bev (Ron) Kiekhaefer of Wayside, Lee (Neva) Fels of West Valley City, UT, Karen (Dan) Smet of De Pere, Lon (Lori) Fels of Wayside and Dan Fels of Green Bay; an aunt, Verna Schmidt of De Pere and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Bruce is also survived by his family at the Superior House, where he was affectionately known as Mr. Bruce. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Adeline, and a niece, Nancy Kiekhaefer. Family and friends may visit at Faith Lutheran Church, 2335 S. Webster Ave, Allouez, on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am (church is fully handicap accessible). Rev. Peter Speckhard will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to CP. Please make checks payable to CP, Inc, and forward in care of Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, WI 54115. We wish to thank the staff at Aurora for the care given to Bruce during his stay. Special thanks to Rev. Peter Speckhard, Rev. Joshua Errer, and everyone at Faith Lutheran Church for their commitment to Bruce’s faith in Christ. Bruce lived a full life-from living on the farm as a small boy near Shirley to his adult family home in Green Bay. He was very special, and didn’t let his handicap define him. The family feels that much of his happiness and contentment in his later years came from the special love given by the caregivers of Innovative Services, fellow residents of the Superior House and from staff at the CP Center in Green Bay. Words cannot express our appreciation for the love shown from these wonderful people during Bruce’s life.
