Brian David Degroot

Brian D. DeGroot, age 46, of De Pere, passed away peacefully from a brain tumor September 19, 2017. Brian was born July 22, 1971 in Green Bay to Paul and Patricia (DeStaercke) DeGroot, the youngest of their three sons. He attended Dickinson Elementary and graduated from East De Pere High School in the class of 1989. Brian had many interests such as photography, kayaking, cooking, and animals. He leaves behind his two brothers and their families: Robert (Holly) DeGroot of Phillips, WI and Bill (special friend Jennifer and her son Sean) DeGroot of Kenosha; two nephews: Andrew and Ryan; his faithful cat Pumpkin; special aunt Sharon DeStaercke, who helped Brian with so much since his first brain tumor 5 years ago, and his dear friends Mel and Mary Lubinski, who treated Brian like their own these past few years. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Patricia. Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Saturday, September 23, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with the Rev. Binu Varghese, O.Praem officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
