Beverly Vande Walle

March 8, 1933 — December 29, 2016

Beverly Pearl (Sczenski) Vande Walle passed away on December 29, 2016 at the age of 83 surrounded by her family. Beverly was born March 8, 1933 to Theodore and Pearl Sczenski and was later fostered by George and Ruby Schulz of Neenah, WI. Beverly’s biggest wish was to have a large family of her own. Her dreams more than came true when she met Carl Vande Walle. They married on September 4, 1954 and shared in the joy of their eight children John (Sandy), Amy (Steve) Goodsett, Lauren (Jeff), Chris (Joanne), Mary (Paul) Ferron, George (Pam), Andy (Kim), and Carl (Brenda). Beverly is survived by her children, grandchildren Jacqueline (Jon) Wegge, Bridget (Chad) Blean , Jessica (Chris ) Koenig, Erik Vande Walle, Devin Vande Walle, Alex Ferron, Eric (Nicole) Birr, Todd (Nicole) Jordan, Alana (Steve) Lisano, and Megan (Jason) Epps, her great-grandchildren Ethan VanDenHeuvel, Rorey and Carsyn Blean, Ayden and Halle Birr, and Caelyn and Ian Epps, her sister Audrey Vande Logt, her sister-in-law Dorothy (Bill) Mahlock, brothers-in-law, Kenny (Pat) Vande Walle and James Armbruster, and her many nieces and nephews. Beverly and her sister Audrey shared a unique bond and deep faith that carried them through their years of separation and difficulties. Their families are especially close, and Audrey’s children Linda, Sandy, Brenda, and Kevin gave Beverly the special nickname “Nanan”. Beverly was a devoted, hard-working, and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Mom’s focus was always her children and she somehow found the time to make each one feel special, loved, and appreciated. Mom’s love was unconditional and never ending to the members of her family. Mom lived by her Christian faith and as a result focused on the needs of others before her own. Mom made homemade meals to share with her family each day and some of her specialties included meat pies, homemade rolls, “cowboy coffeecake”, “sportsman’s special”, swiss steak, and apple pie. She modeled a hearty sense of humor and loved nothing more than being surrounded by the laughs and smiles of her friends and family. Mom was an avid reader and also very creative and artistic. She joined in art projects and crafts with her children and grandchildren creating many memories along the way as well as crocheted family heirlooms, ornaments, table cloths, and many more. Mom and Dad instilled a love of nature and family in their children and enjoyed bundling up their crew for road trips, especially for picnics at the Dunes, enjoying the fall colors, and soaking in the beauty around them. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents, her siblings John, Russell Cyrus and Julian, her daughter-in-law Kim, her foster parents and her foster sister Pat (Ralph) Kiesow, her brother and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Vande Walle, Janie Armbruster, Margie (Anthony) Cicoria, Anthony “Red” Vande Logt, and Gene Hoell. Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Tuesday, January 3, from 9:30am until 10:45am.
