Bernard “Barney” Ribarchek, age 90, of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 15, 2017 with his family at his side. The son of the late John and Eunice (Remmel) Ribarchek was born September 19, 1927 in Green Bay. He served his country in the US Navy from 1944-1948 during World War II. Rita and Bernard Ribarchek were united in marriage in 1950, and they celebrated almost 65 years of marriage before Rita passed away in 2015. Barney was a truck driver for Corey Steel in Cicero, IL for 35 years before retiring. He followed his son, Tom’s, athletic career throughout his life, and was his #1 fan. He followed many sports teams, including the Packers, Brewers, Cubs, Badgers and the Wrightstown Tigers. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and driving them around to their many activities. Barney cherished the many drives he took with Diane and Rita. Survivors include his children: the late Tom (Kathy) and their daughter Courtney, the late Diane Ribarchek, Lynn (Joe) Kussow, Connie (Dan) Fritsch; grandchildren: Kerri (Al) Ruhland and their children: Ryan, Megan and Becky, the late Rebecca (Mike) Pennenberg and their children the late Raelia, Noah and Isaiah, Andrea Kussow, Adam (Tammy) Kussow and their children Mason and Mercedes, Alicia (Bryan) Bushey and their children Kierra, Kyla and a new arrival due soon, Justin Fritsch and children Kyrie and Brylee, Erica (Ryan) Buechel; sisters: Dorothy Gibson and Gladys Goode; sisters-in-law: Bette Ribarchek and Carol Ribarchek; Rita’s family, Kieth (Jean) Vanevenhoven, Mary (Bob) Kersten, Carol (Randy) Siewert. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Bob (LaVerne), Don and John “Steve” Ribarchek. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St., Wrightstown, from 1:00pm to 1:45pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Deacon Mike Zebroski officiating. Interment in St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
