Ben H. Duckart

Ben H. Duckart, age 85, passed away January 13, 2014. The son of the late Walter and Barbara (Engeldinger) Duckart was born in 1928. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he married Jean Claire Martin on February 26, 1959 in Green Bay. Ben worked for Kelvinator in addition to his family farm, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown and the Denmark VFW Post 6705. Survivors include his wife, Jean Claire; daughters Linda and Lisa Duckart; a brother, John (Karen) Duckart; sisters-in-law: Elaine Martin and Myrtle Specht; nieces and nephews: Melody Ann Specht, Michael (Jane) Specht, Mitchell (Debra) Specht, Donna (Bill) Voss, Diane (Tom) Matoska, Scott (Laurie) Mc Givern and Mary (special friend Rich) Mc Givern. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Merl Specht. Private family services will be held. Cotter Funeral Home of Denmark is assisting the family. A memorial fund is being established in Ben’s name for Unity Hospice.
