Beatrice M. (Olbrantz) Wellens

April 7, 1927 — November 26, 2013

Beatrice M. Wellens, age 86, a longtime resident of De Pere, joined our dad in heaven on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. The daughter of the late Julius and Hilda (Bushman) Olbrantz was born April 7, 1927 in Appleton. She married Jerome Wellens on October 19, 1946 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and together they shared 60 years of marriage. Her passion in life was her family. Her final hours were spent with her family by her side. Times spent with her children and grandchildren were most special to her. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, gambling, playing cards, bridge club, camping and traveling. Survivors include her children: Sharon (Frank) Manders, Julie (Lee) Wortiska, Laurie (Jerry) Shemoncofsky and David (Teri) Wellens; grandchildren: Shelley (Michael) Brennan, Nicole Manders, Jessica Erieau, Daniel Wortiska, Rachel (Tim) Enright, Jeremy (Sarah) Wellens, Ben Wellens, Holly (John) Schmidt and Jeanne Wellens; great-grandchildren: Lyric Manders, Robert Cox, Emily, Leah and Luke Enright, Brooklynn and Madelynn Wellens; brothers: Jerry (Priscilla) Olbrantz and Norb (Jan) Olbrantz; sisters-in-laws, Aura Olbrantz and Rita Olbrantz, special friends Dottie, Betty and Eleanor, as well as her faithful companion, Scooter. In addition to her husband Jerry, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne; brothers: Obie Olbrantz, Charlie Olbrantz, Norman (Renee) Olbrantz and James Olbrantz, and a sister, Patricia (Joseph) Hendricks. Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Saturday, November 30, from 9:00-11:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am with Fr. Judah Pigon, MF officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
