Beatrice "Blondie" Mancoske

June 21, 1925 — August 19, 2015

Beatrice L. “Blondie” Mancoske, 90, Denmark, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. She was born June 21, 1925 in Clarks Mills, WI, daughter to the late Olaf and Lily (Thone) Olson. She married John (Jack) Mancoske on April 27, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion. She was a waitress at Coney Island in Manitowoc, the place where she met her husband, John. They celebrated 64 years of marriage and they farmed side by side on the family farm. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2010. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She loved crocheting baby blankets, afghans, scarfs, and headbands. Beatrice was a member of the Sons of Norway and Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She also volunteered at Parkview Manor for many years. She visited her father’s homeland of Norway three times to see her family and experience her heritage. She will be deeply missed by her children: Lee (Sally) Mancoske, Tom (Donna) Mancoske, Gary (Terri) Mancoske, Sharon (Bill) Rentmeester, and Susie (Jim) Dessart; her grandchildren: Michael, and Patrick (Paulina) Mancoske; Todd (Kimberlee), and Chad Stedl; Tim, John G. (Sarah), Jacob (special friend-Nicole) and Joe (special friend-Denise) Mancoske; Tom (Marcy), Lee, Gary (Laura), Katie (Greg) Duquaine and Jackie Bea Rentmeester; Megan (special friend-Kyle), Samantha Jo, and Danielle Bea Dessart; her great-grandchildren: Isabella Mancoske; Ivan and Nadia Stedl; Autumn and Brynlee Mancoske; Will and Josie Rentmeester; Lily and Levi Duquaine, and one on the way, Lucy Rentmeester. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Steinhorst. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John G. “Jackie” Mancoske; sisters and brothers-in-law: Luella (Guilford) Gilbertson, Sylvia (Orin) Gilbertson, Delores (Harold) Rose; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leo (Cleo) Olson, and Floyd and Gene Olson; and brother-in-law, Butch Steinhorst. Also John’s family: Luzetta (Ervin) Maertz, Clem (Marie) Mancoske, Cliff (Marion) Mancoske, and LaVern (Al) Hein. Family and friends may visit Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Maurice Mmegbuadimma officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Pine Grove. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
