Barbara Steinhofer

Barbara J. Steinhofer, 86, a De Pere resident, died April 12, 2013 at Bellin Hospital. The daughter of the late Robert and Ada (Rundel) Griswold was born November 10, 1926 in Livingston, WI. She graduated from Fennimore High School and attended Platteville Teacher’s College. She married George Steinhofer in Nashua, Iowa at the little brown church in the veil. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and enjoyed politics. She had a great love for babies, and was very devoted to her family, who brought her great joy. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her close friends. Survivors include her children: Robert (Patricia) Steinhofer, Green Bay; Jane (Todd) Reimer, Appleton; Philip (Susan) Steinhofer, De Pere; Janet (Ralph) Ewert, Menomonee Falls; John (Jayne Lemminger) Steinhofer, Silver Cliff; 12 grandchildren: Megan, Elizabeth (Jerrod), Amy (Frank); Michael (Brenna), Steven, Sara; Joanne and Karen; Jason (Ann) and Russell (Krista); Gregory (Kelli) and Glen. Also survived by great-grandchildren: Hannah, Frank and Miles; Vanessa and Victoria; Valmont, Nathan and Benjamin; Gavin, Nolan and Jasper; Maxwell Steinhofer; a brother: Oliver (Betty); nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by: her husband, George; sisters and brothers: Marion, Harriet, Jack and Francis. Friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, from 4-6pm on Monday, April 15. The funeral service will be private. Burial in Fennimore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
