August J Krueger

June 25, 1929 — May 17, 2010

August J. Krueger, 80, Denmark, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born June 25, 1929, in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee Co., son of the late William and Wilhelmine (Gauger) Krueger. He attended Denmark Schools and farmed all his life on the family farm. August married Elaine Radue on July 31, 1954 at Christ Lutheran Church in Denmark. He enjoyed going on vacations with his nephew, Eugene (Linda), and also going up north to his cabin near Pembine that he built, where he liked to deer hunt with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his antique tractors. August was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Denmark. He loved playing cards with his grandchildren and teaching them how to play 31. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Elaine; three sons, Mark (Marianne) Krueger, Kevin (Pam) Krueger, and Richard (Cindy) Krueger; grandchildren: Anne, Ben and Chad, Brady and Max, Ashley, Jesse, Tracy and Chris; one sister, Ruth Pahnke; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Reckelberg and Joanne (Myron) Shimanek; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Helen (Julius) Reckelberg, Armin (Louise), Julius (Irmgard), Henry (Coralie), William Jr., Gertrude (Eugene, Sr.) Dahlke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Gladys Radue; a brother-in-law, Harlan Pahnke; and two nephews, Fred Reckelberg and Robert Krueger. Family and friends may call Friday, May 21, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Denmark. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at church, with the Rev. Ralph Hankermeyer officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. The family extends a special thank you to the ICU and 2 South staff and nurses at Bellin Hospital for their wonderful care, and Rev. Jean and Pastor Ralph for their many visits.
