Audrey A. Hardy

September 10, 1929 — September 14, 2019

Audrey A. Hardy, 90, of Green Bay (formerly of De Pere and Crivitz), passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019. She was born September 10, 1929, to the late Arthur and Viola (Wuerger) Pahl.

Audrey grew up on a farm located along HWY 57, outside of Greenleaf. She graduated Valedictorian from De Pere High School in 1947 and attended Badger-Green Bay Business College. Audrey was employed by the U.S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service when she met Maurice Hardy, Wrightstown. On February 20, 1954, they were married, moved to Ashwaubenon and started a family. In 1970, they embarked on their greatest adventure: owning and operating Timberline Resort on Lake Noquebay, Crivitz. When they retired from owning the resort, they managed an apartment complex in De Pere. Later, Audrey worked part-time at an apartment complex in Green Bay until she retired in 2009.

Audrey enjoyed playing piano, bowling. sewing, knitting, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved spending time with and cooking for her family. She would reminisce about growing up on the farm and what it was like during the Great Depression and WWII. As an avid Packers fan and season ticket holder since 1948, she delighted in bragging about going to the Ice Bowl—she kept the ticket to prove it! Her kind heart and joyful personality touched many lives, making her loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by five children: Robert (Mary Jo) Hardy, Green Bay; Ronald Hardy, Freedom; Barbara Hardy, De Pere; Roger (Sallie) Hardy, Crivitz; Kathy Rettke, Pulaski; eleven grandchildren: Jonathan (Lori) Hardy, Nicholas Hardy, Christopher (Chelsie) Hardy, Kurtis Hardy, Clinton Hardy, Maurine (Jesse) Saliger, Stacy Tuma, Danielle Hardy, Chelsea Hardy, Autumn Rettke, Alyssa Rettke; and five great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, and her daughter-in-law, Amy.
