Arlene (Jirikovec) Clancy

Arlene A. Clancy, 70, Maribel, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Rennes Health Care Center. She was born June 22, 1939, daughter to the late Wencil and Evelyn (Pelishek) Jirikovec. She married Daniel Clancy on May 26, 1962 at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. They enjoyed 35 years together before Dan passed away on May 27, 1997. Arlene owned and operated the Shamrock Bar in Maribel for many years. She was an avid bowler, loved softball and was a proud sponsor of the Shamrock Bar girls softball team, enjoyed playing the Stumpf Fiddle, playing cards, shaking dice, and loved bean-bag toss. Survivors include her four children, Sean (Lynnette) Clancy, Green Bay; Diana Umentum, Denmark; Colleen Clancy, Maribel; and Patricia Clancy, Kewaunee; seven grandchildren: Breanna, Alisha, Tanner; Derrick, Aliana, Cameron, and Annaliese; 2 brothers, Paul (Janice) Jirikovec and Leonard (Dorothy) Jirikovec; four sisters-in-law: Denise Reith, Kaukauna, Marion Schreck, Indiana, Mary Clancy, Michigan, and Jane Clancy, Carollton, GA, and Betty Clancy, Greenleaf; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her parents; two sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law. Family and friends may call Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
