Arlene B. (Steffel) Johnson

July 26, 1924 — February 21, 2012

Arlene B. (Steffel) Johnson, 87, Denmark, died February 21, 2012. She was born July 26, 1924 to the late Joseph and Emma Steffel. On July 8, 1944 she married Norbert and in 2006 they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Together, they operated a dairy farm named ARNORAL (Arlene-Norbert-Allan). They were very proud when the farm was awarded the “Century” status which meant it was in the Johnson family for over 100 years. Arlene enjoyed gardening, dancing, bowling, playing cards, bingo and volunteering. Arlene loved country music and enjoyed attending Way-Morr Park evening music concerts. Arlene loved to spend time with family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and true friend. She was an awesome cook who shared her many recipes. Arlene had a deep faith in God. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Denmark. Arlene sang in the church choir and hosted bible studies. She volunteered at church events, nursing homes, for the Denmark Lions Club and the Denmark Senior Center. Arlene’s fantastic outlook on life will always be remembered, a great role model. She never complained and Oh, how we’ll miss her smile that always lit up the room. Arlene unconditionally loved her family with all her heart. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra Johnson, Denmark, and Lynnette (Richard) Duckett, Maribel; grandchildren: Christine (Bob) Maranan, Milwaukee, WI; Steven (Alisha) Duckett, Minneapolis, MN; Allan Duckett, San Francisco, CA; Erin (Steve) DeGrand, Green Bay; Lani (Brian) Pautz, Pulaski; Ellen Johnson, De Pere; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Johnson; step-grandchildren: Tom (Rhonda) Skippon, San Diego, CA; Jennifer Blanford, Kaukauna; Amy (Damien) Meltesen, Green Bay; brother-in-law, Aleck (Rosemary) Johnsen; sister-in-law, Irene Steffel; like a son, Wayne (Vi) Petersen; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
