Arileen M. Duckett, 95, De Pere, formerly of Denmark, passed away Wednesday morning, April 18, 2012. She was born September 19, 1916 at the family homestead in Cooperstown, daughter of the late James and Anna (Cavanaugh) Reedy. She attended grade school at the Hickory Grove School, graduated from Denmark High School in 1934, and graduated from Manitowoc County Normal in 1935. Arileen married Norbert Duckett at St. Mary Catholic Church - Stark on October 19, 1940. He passed away October 1, 1977. Her primary vocation was homemaker and mother, and also taught in area elementary schools for 16 years. Arileen is a member of All Saints Catholic Church, and served on the Altar Society. She was a volunteer for Brown County Aging, and enjoyed her daily walks. “Mom had many talents: teacher, homemaker, mother of seven, and spiritual leader of the family. Her life was consumed by her faith and the love she had for her family.” Surviving are her 7 children: Joseph (Karen), Denmark; Richard (Lynnette), Maribel; Robert (Betty), Denmark; John, Green Bay; Mary Ellen (Tom) Simons, Green Bay; Timothy (Jayne), Green Bay; and Dennis (Sandy), Green Bay; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbert; twin sister, Kathleen; and brothers, Earl and John (Marie) Reedy; son-in-law, James Rasmussen; daughters-in-law: Betty Duckett and Mary Lou Duckett; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: George Helen Duckett, James Kathleen Duckett, Eleanor Norbert Timmers, and Elizabeth Duckett. Relatives and friends may call at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Rd R, Denmark, on Thursday (TODAY), April 19th, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, April 20th, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, St. Claude St., Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Rennes Health Center and Unity Hospice for the loving care they gave to Arileen.
