Woelfel, Anna Helen
Anna Helen Woelfel, age 99, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2019.
She was born July 26, 1919, in Chilton, to Clara and John Mueller. She married Alvin Woelfel at St. Martin Church at Charlestown, Aug. 23, 1938 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1986. Anna was a devout Catholic and member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Mary and also a Catholic Knights Member. She enjoyed raising her 9 children and worked for 17 years with Prange Way department store. Anna was also known for making the best Old Fashioned around.
Survivors include her children, Erwin and Ellen Woelfel, Dolores and Les Schmidt, Arleen Woelfel and friend Willie Brown, Rosie and Bob Saharsky, Sharon and Glenn Scheidenhelm, David and Diane Woelfel, Kay and Bill Vanden Elzen, Brenda and John Scheer; as well as 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Alvin, Anna was preceded in death by a son, Gerald; grandson, Marty; granddaughters-in-law Stephanie and Amy; brother: Leonard (Alvera) Mueller and sister: Marcella (Gilbert) Schneider.
Family and friends my gather at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, Visitation on Wednesday, April 10, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, April 11, from 8:30am until 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank all of the care givers who took care of Anna in sickness and in health.
