Angeline "Angie" Grohusky

April 10, 1915 — September 20, 2014

Angeline Grohusky, 99, De Pere, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 20, 2014 at Unity Hospice in De Pere. Born April 10, 1915 in De Pere, she is the daughter of the late Martin and Josephine (DeCleene) Zelten. She was the last of her generation on both sides of her marriage to leave us. She married Edward Grohusky on June 14, 1938 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2003. Angie worked as a bookkeeper at The Creamery at the corner of Creamery Road and Hwy G, and also at Baeten’s Foods at the corner of Superior and George Streets in De Pere- both businesses long gone. She was an excellent seamstress and worked from her home for many De Pere residents for about 40 years. She was very proud of her sewing ability, and very happy to have the social contract with so many in the community. She ended her working years in Sales for Lee’s Clothing Store until its closing. Angie loved to go for long walks in De Pere every day, and enjoyed playing sheepshead at family get-togethers, dancing polkas and quilting at St. Mary’s Church. In her later years, she looked forward to working puzzles and family visits. Angie is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and Joy (Koenig) Grohusky of Richmond, VA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Marty (Galloway) Grohusky; six grandchildren: Susan (John) Allison, Terri Grohusky, Elizabeth (Damon) Joyner, Leslie Evanisko, Bradley (Kathryn) Grohusky, Scott Grohusky, Christen (Jeff) Shanafelt; eight great-grandchildren: Amelia Rose, Eli, Gray, Max, Sophia, George, Aisley and Galen. Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Wednesday, September 24, from 10:00am until the hour of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be directed in Angie’s name to St. Mary Church of De Pere or Unity Hospice.
