Angela Margaret Shobe

Angela Margaret Shobe (nee Rahr), age 88, passed away August 11, 2023. She was born July 28, 1935, in Green Bay to Raymond and Ora Rahr. After graduating from Green Bay East High School in 1954, she moved to Washington, DC where she met and married Charles David Shobe in 1958. The couple moved around as a military family until her husband retired after a 20-year career. The family moved to the Green Bay area in 1970 and settled in Allouez.

During her 88 years, Angela maintained close friendships with high school friends as well as women she met in DC, Waiting Wives, Welcome Wagon, and playing in many bridge clubs. When in her 40s, Angela began taking classes at UWGB and was very proud to earn a B.A. degree in Social Change and Development in December of 1983. After finishing her degree, she became an active member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). During her lifetime, Angela loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel and spend a lot of time in Florida during the cold Wisconsin winters.

Angela is survived by her children: Kristin (Antonio) Berti, Andrew (Debbie) Shobe and Charlene (Ray) Cannon; grandchildren: Anissa, Ryan, Noah, Luca, and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, who died in 2010.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Monday, August 14, from 4:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Special thanks to the ProMedica Hospice care staff that were so good to Angela, especially her RNs: Traci, Kelly and Nadyne. Special thanks also to the staff at Eden Vista that Angela had grown close to.
