Alton Van Rite

March 18, 1928 — April 17, 2011

Alton Raphael Van Rite, 83, Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1928 in Bellevue, son of the late Albert and Anna Van Rite. He married Agnes Tauschek, May 9, 1953, at St. Killian’s Catholic Church, New Franken. He farmed all his life on the homestead farm in Bellevue, which was established in 1873. Alton loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed hunting, car racing, and gardening. Survivors include his loving wife, Agnes; four children: Barbara (Steven) Lautenslager, Susan (Michael) Tesar, David Van Rite, and Sharon (Joel) Faeth; grandchildren: Jeffrey and Timothy Lautenslager, Traci and Collin Tesar, Nicole and Austin Faeth; two sisters, Jeanette Leanna and Sylvia Lindsley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Friends may call Wednesday, April 20, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John XXIII Circle, Town of Ledgeview, off Sportsman Drive. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum.
