Aloysious "Al" Decleene

Aloysious “Al” DeCleene, 86, De Pere, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016. The son of the late William and Christine (Scray) DeCleene was born on August 16, 1929 in De Pere. He married Joann Suplinski on October 3, 1953 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Green Bay. After serving in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict, he was proud to belong to the De Pere VFW Post 2113, and the American Legion-Urban Klister Post 436. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ledgeview, where Al was proud to mow the lawn for many years. Al was a skilled bricklayer, and was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was also a member of the De Pere Area Men’s Club. He is survived by his wife, Joann, five children: Laurie (Dean) Pankow; Sandra (Mark) Zullner; Howard (Geralynn) DeCleene; Theresa (Tom) Alexander; Annette Reed; grandchildren: Ben (Kirstin) Pankow and their children, Brielle, Caleb, Josiah, and Daniel; Andrew (Amy) Pankow and their children, Anika and Leah; Linda (Zach) Stollfus; Mark (Jennifer) Hazaert and their children, Jacob and Elizebeth; Susan Fitzl and her children, Ray, Shay, and Trey; Rachel Hazaert; Matthew (Katie) DeCleene and their daughter Morgan; Christopher (Hang) DeCleene; Kathryn DeCleene; Preston Alexander; Leslea (Nathan) Cahill; Stacey (James) Webber; Spencer (Franchesca) Alexander; Laura DeBauche and her son Tyriek; brothers and sisters: Bernice Strenn, Loretta Verhasselt, Helen Verhasselt, Sr. Vonnie DeCleene, Alice Morrell, Joyce DeCleene, Judy (Bob) Johanski; sisters-in-law: LaVerne DeCleene, Leona DeCleene and Mildred Suplinski. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by four brothers: Howard, Harold, Leo and Vic; sisters: Rita Boucher and Sr. Mary Margaret; brothers-in-law: Don Boucher, Howard Strenn, Basil Verhasselt and Leo Verhasselt; sons-in-law, Richard Hazaert and Michael Reed. Family and friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with a family led vigil at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr, Ledgeview, from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
