Alfred Scheutz

October 6, 1931 — September 21, 2013

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Dr. Alfred Schuetz was called home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 6, 1931 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Fred and Louise Schuetz. He was preceded in death by his parents and Step-father Herman Schuerg and 4 brothers and 1 sister. “Bubba” Mleziva and “Doc” are probably on calls in heaven right now. Alfred served his country in the U.S. Army. He attended Kansas State University, graduating in 1962 with honors. He practiced as a veterinarian for 34 years in the Denmark area. Al “Doc” loved his profession and the farmers he met. He married Hedi Honold on June 6, 1959 and together they had two children, Lillian Luce and Jennifer (Jesse) Cain. He also is survived by 4 grandchildren, Nick (Martha) Luce, Jessica (Louie) Meyer, Stephanie Luce, Jericho Cain, and 8 great grandchildren, Anthony, Trinity, Hailey Jane Meyer, Marcus, Charlotte, Abram, Zachariah, Jaelyn, Sister Elfriede Mayfield, special nephew Dr. Steve Major and Sister-in-law Christa Gekas. Al doted on his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He loved spending time and getting countless “High 5’s” from all of them. Al also enjoyed playing cards and gardening. His kindness was felt by all who knew him. His sweet smile and generous nature will live on forever. When you look up in to the sky and see the brightest star, you know it is him watching over all of us. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Maribel Lions Club who so generously loan medical equipment to families in need.
