Albert T. Dufeck

March 7, 1917 — May 22, 2012

Albert T. Dufeck, 95, lifelong resident of Denmark, passed away peacefully May 22, 2012. He was born March 7, 1917, son of the late Albert and Barbara (Zima) Dufeck. He married Lorraine Monfiles, July 17, 1943, in Crawford, Nebraska where he served in the Army as a guard dog trainer. Lorraine preceded him in death on June 2, 2009. Al was a second generation owner of the family business, Dufeck Mfg., which was started by four Dufeck Brothers in 1905. He and Lorraine worked side by side making the cheeseboxes and pallets by day and doing the book work by night. He loved going to the cottage at Little Sturgeon and his old boats , skiing at Winter Park in winter and all his many dogs but most of all he loved telling stories! Al was a director of the former Badger Bank which became M I, a member of the Denmark American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and a former member of the Denmark Fire Department. Survivors include his son, Paul (Jeanette) Dufeck; grandchildren, Joseph (Lynnette) and their daughter, Lucetta Grace; Andrew (Irma) and their sons, Anthony and James; Susan (Todd) Seidl and their daughter, Sophia Lorraine. In addition to his parents and wife, Albert was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Raymond (Agnes) Dufeck; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Loretta (Owen) Reince. Family and friends may call Friday, May 25, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Homeless Shelter in Green Bay. The family extends a special thank you to the staff a Bishops Court and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Albert and his family.
