Albert “Butch” S. Leeke, Jr., Green Bay, passed away early Tuesday, December 8th. He was born to Albert S. and Lillian (Herran) Leeke, Sr. in South Bend, IN, on January 5, 1944. Albert graduated from Central High School in 1962. Shortly after high school in 1963 Albert met Carol L. Minder and together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Carol preceded him in death on March 27, 2014.
Albert enjoyed doing many things over the years. Fishing, driving in demolition derbies, working in his garage, playing the lottery, and going to the casino were some of his favorites. He could also fix just about anything and everything. But most of all, Albert loved the bass guitar and playing in different bands over the years. Albert loved music, he was the happiest just sitting and picking his guitar and drinking a beer. He also loved to have get-togethers at his house with family and friends, playing cards and having good times, especially on the 4th of July! Albert was definitely one of a kind. He will be dearly missed by his daughters and their families.
Albert is survived by daughters, Darlene (Terry) Nivens of South Bend IN, Diana (Roger) Brown, Debra (Steve) Roberts of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Steven Nivens of South Haven, MI, Meagan Nivens of South Bend, IN, Tyler (Alicia) Brown, Ryan (Sofyia) Brown, Jesse Roberts, and Jamie Roberts of Niles MI; and ten great-grandchildren. Albert is further survived by brother, Douglas Leeke; and sister, Constance Blair.
Per the families wishes, a private service will be held. Family and friends may join a live-stream of the service on the Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care Facebook page beginning at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 15.
