Albert Joseph “Alby” Carter, age 61, of Wrightstown, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of the late Bernard and Bernadine (VanDeWalle) Carter was born June 13, 1954 in Lakewood. He married the former Judy Rank on October 30, 1976 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Brillion, and together they enjoyed 39 years together. Alby spent 42 years working hard at Brillion Iron Works, and wasn’t known for sitting still very long there or anywhere else. His hard-working mentality extended to his home as well, where he was an enthusiastic handyman, able to build or fix anything you could imagine. Above all else Alby enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson Devon; but in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, campfires, going up north and of course the Packers. Anyone who knew him could tell you he would do anything for anyone. Survivors include his wife Judy, his two sons Travis and Troy (Sally), his grandson Devon, brothers and sisters: Diane Mrozinski, Eugene (Jackie) Carter, Sue (Joe Scheneske) Van Den Heuvel, Mary (John Sr.) Huth, Tina (Steve) Zelten, Debbie (Andy) Geurts, Rose Carter and Trudy (Doug) Haynam. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Carl Lawrenz, Dawn (Scott) Sidwell and Ed (Mary) Nohr, as well as nieces, nephews and a friend Sheila Hein (Ken). In addition to his parents, Alby was preceded in death by five siblings: JoAnn Lawrenz, Glenn, Jim, Dave and Alice (Joe) Listersky; Judy’s parents: Edmund and Cecelia Rank; Judy’s sisters: Marilynne McLeod and Jeanne Koltis, as well as nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Saturday, November 7, from 9:00am until 11:45am. Funeral Mass will follow at noon with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory of Wrightstown is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com Our family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL, as well as to the caregivers on the 9th floor at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice.
