Adeline B. (Klemish) Larsen

Adeline B. Larsen passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Harmony of Denmark at the age of 95. She was born in Kewaunee, WI, on May 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Jerabek) Klemish. On July 12, 1941, Adeline married Donald W. Larsen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Denmark. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2007. Adeline was a devoted mother and wife. She was a great cook, which she learned from her mother. She made the best rosettes, kolaches, and poppy seed torte, and the greatest roast chicken around. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Demark and Our Savior’s Women of the ELCA. Adeline loved dancing, gardening, playing cards and going “up north” to the “Soundshot” Hunting Club in Pembine with friends and relatives. She also loved visiting friends, relatives and neighbors on the family homestead farm. Surviving are 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Darrell Larsen of Summerfield FL, Dale Larsen (friend, Patricia) of De Pere, Steven (Connie) Larsen of Denmark, and Diane (Marty) Gransky of Severna Park MD; 11 grandchildren: Anne (Fran) Vanden Meerendonk, Michelle “Missy” Meeker, Christopher (Jessica) Larsen, Erin Larsen, Kim (Scott) Anderl, Tammy Larsen (fiancé, Paul Denny), Sean Larsen, Melissa (Phil) Radcliff, Charles Larsen, Laura (Al) Busch, and Lynette (fiancé, Luke Simonar); and 8 great-grandchildren: Paige, Abigail, Ethan, Brayden, Adalyn, James, Amie, and Adeline. She is also survived by her sister Millie Hurka of Deltona FL, brothers- in-law: Melvin (Gladys) Larsen and Warren Pierner; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and two sons: Lauren Larsen and Robert Larsen; and a sister, Glenna Klemish. She was also preceded in death by her husband’s parents, Arthur and Ella Larsen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Austin Larsen, Lena Larsen, Ellsworth Larsen, Maynard (Gladys) Larsen, Artie (Marcella) Larsen, Thelma (Marvin) Petersen, Marion (Ellis) Petersen, Ruth (Al) Crowley, Calvin (Elaine) Larsen, Myra Pierner, and Joseph Hurka. Family and Friends may call at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Rd R, Denmark, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 435 Wisconsin Ave., Denmark. The funeral service will be conducted at the church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Beth Macha officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Nicolet Memorial Gardens, town of Scott. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Bay Area Humane Society, 1830 Radisson St., Green Bay, WI 54302. Adeline’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Harmony of Denmark for their compassionate care and Unity Hospice for all they did to make Mom’s last days peaceful and serene. Also a special thanks to Pastor Beth Macha for her care and support.
