The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Hjorth can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Dawn Begotka
Condolence: I was a caregiver for Doug a couple years ago from Helping Hands Caregivers. I enjoyed getting to know Doug and some of his other caregivers at that time. I offer my deepest sympathy to his family.

Condolence From: Jenifer A. Kizior
Condolence: Doug will be missed. I am so sorry for you loss. I enjoyed listing to Doug talk about this photography and would bring his camera into work. He would go Jen take at look at this in my garden. Can a dragon fly get this big? And I would go check it out for Doug. Or Doug strong opinions on political issues. I enjoyed his talks at work or on break. At work, I was at my cubical the other day. Doug's desk was on the other side, next to mine. I looked up and thought to my self. Work will not be the same. Now that our co-worker and friend is gone. Heaven now has a one of a kind gem

Condolence From: Laurie Schwartz
Condolence: So sorry for the loss of such a great man. I met Doug ballroom dancing. He eventually became my friend client and photographer. He phototograph myself my children and my home. He was great for myself esteem had me model for ducks unlimited pamphlet and shot some great photos of me. I will always remember one special photo he said he could take my crows feet out of. I said no thanks dog I earned them. He was instrumental in facilitating a benefit for my son when he had leukemia ten years ago and used his electric wheel chair to get to the event. I was always amazed at his positive outlook on life through his many challenges. He always saw the beauty. We lost touch for awhile but reconnected of all place in the emergency room. Both of us had health challenges. I will remember his kindness in dealing with his crazy friend and his bubbly laughter. Heaven got a good one. Prayers to all who love him.
