Obituary for Andy Cerrato

Andrew James Cerrato, 40, of De Pere, WI, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1972, in Amery, WI, to Robert and Sharon Cerrato. Andy graduated from Marinette High School in 1990. He continued his education by earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, while playing football at the University of MN-Duluth where he met the love of his life, Tammy. They were married on August 12, 1995, in Duluth, MN and moved to the Green Bay area.

Andy taught 5th and 6th grade for the past 17 years in the De Pere School District. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Viterbo University in 2006. During his 17 years he touched many lives through both teaching and coaching freshman basketball, JV football, and cross country.

Andy was an extremely loving husband and father. He was most proud of his three daughters, Carly (15), Lexi (14) and Natalie (12). He coached all three girls in basketball and softball. He also loved camping, fishing, hunting and traveling with his family and friends. Andy’s smile, laughter, and quick wit could light up a room. His one-liners and unique nicknames for others will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years , Tammy (Vandenberg) Cerrato of De Pere; his daughters, Carly, Alexis and Natalie; his parents Robert Sr. and Sharon Cerrato of Green Bay, WI; two brothers, Robert Jr. (Cheryl) Cerrato of Green Bay, WI; Craig Cerrato of St. Paul, MN; mother-in-law, Karen Vandenberg of Little Canada, MN; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Ed) Sheils, of Saratoga, WY; Mary (Bob) Pankonien of Maplewood, MN; a brother-in-law, Erick Vandenberg of Superior, WI; and his maternal grandmother, Lila Roback of Plover, WI; seven nieces and nephews, Bobby, Samantha, Hunter, MaKenzie, Nolan, Mia, and Khloe.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Roback, maternal grandparents, Charles and Florence Cerrato and father-in-law, Douglas Vandenberg.

Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, from 4-8pm on Friday, August 2. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 3, from 12:30-1:45pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2911 Libal St, Allouez. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday with the Rev.
